HYPERION

We want to take a moment to provide a clear and honest update on the current state of our projects and what’s happening behind the scenes.

Project Hyperion, our flagship Battle Royale hybrid map, is still actively in development and is nearing the tail end of production. However, we are currently blocked by a critical technical issue on Epic Games’ side. The Cooker Out of Memory error has not been resolved as of recent updates and, in recent changes, has unfortunately become significantly worse. This issue prevents reliable private playtesting, making it extremely difficult to validate bug fixes, performance, and core gameplay systems. Our original internal target for release was January, but without the ability to properly test or even publish the map, that timeline is no longer realistic. At this stage, we are entirely dependent on Epic Games addressing this problem before Hyperion can move forward. We appreciate everyone’s patience and will share updates as soon as we’re able.

On a more positive note, the (Previously FaZe) Replays – Canvas Island Battle Royale experience may reach release before Hyperion. Due to its smaller scale and lower technical complexity, Canvas Island is entering final bug fixing and quality assurance and is approaching its initial launch window. This map is being built specifically around Replays’ community and playstyle and will receive its own seasonal updates, tournaments, and live events. Canvas Island will continue to be supported alongside Hyperion long-term, and we’re excited for players to experience what we have planned.

Looking ahead, without spoiling too much, BiomeForge is also actively working on new experiences and has multiple collaborations with other creators currently in development, inside and outside of Fortnite, yes, it’s that big. These projects represent the next phase of what we want to build as a studio, and we’re eager to share more when the time is right.
